ACSyracuse Partners with the Cayman Islands Football Association

ACSyracuse is very excited to announce their partnership with the Cayman Islands Football Association. 

The continuing goal with the club is to build a bridge with between the United States and countries across the globe. The hope is to take soccer in the U.S to a whole new level and to expand ACSyracuse on global scale. 

The Cayman Islands Football Association was founded in 1966. It is a governing body that overseas the countries national teams, on the Men's and Women's side. 

The president of the association is Alfredo G. Whitaker-Brown. Whitaker-Brown took over in 2017, following his time as the head of the Referee Department for the CONCACAF. He also spent 10 years as the Duty Manager at the Airport Profession Services. Whitaker-Brown has a deep global background, having worked in over 35 countries in various roles with those from various backgrounds. His experience knowledge will be a great asset for ACSyracuse going forward. 

Marcos Aurelio Tinoco is the associations General Secretary. Tinoco took over this role in 2018 with a deep background in coaching and directing soccer. Since 2011 Marcos has been a FIFA coaching instructor, teaching many CONCACAF courses. From 2010-2014 he was apart of the Cayman Island Football Association as the Cayman Islands Football Association Technical Director and Office Manager.

The Associations mission is to "maximize the positive impact of football on the people of the Cayman Islands." With that being said, "a well-resourced and well governed CIFA has propelled the Cayman Islands to the finals of the Gold Cup, unleashing national pride, passion and a sense of accomplishment"

ACSyracuse Has Officially Named The Clubs Women's Head Coach Brooke Barbuto

Announcement of the Women's Team Head Coach:

ACSyracuse is very excited to announce our Women’s Team Head Coach, Brooke Barbuto. 
Brooke will take charge and be the head coach of the Women's team coming in the next year. ACSyracuse is excited for her to bring her experience playing on the field and coaching. 

A four-year starter at Division I Stony Brook University, she finished her college career with 17 goals and nine assists. While at Stony Brook she was selected to the All-Academic team, America East All-Rookie Team, All-America East First Team, NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team, Soccer Buzz Magazine's All-Northeast Region Second Team, and America East Tournament All-Championship team. She served as team captain and was selected Most Valuable Player in her senior year.

Barbuto has played professional soccer with 4 different countries. She played in the US with the Buffalo Flash, Iceland with Haukar, Finland with GBK and NiceFutis and last year in Australia with the Peninsula Power. She has also been a Head Coach for Bryant & Stratton College, a NJCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletic Program, a head coach of the Utica Women’s Soccer Team and helped lead them to 10-7-3 record.

ACSyracuse Has Officially Named The Clubs Head Coach and The Director of Coaching: Cláudio Garcia

ACSyracuse is excited to officially announce that we have named our Head Coach and Director of Coaching, Cláudio Garcia. Cláudio has an experiences backround both playing and coaching soccer at a high level. He spent many years playing in Portugal's second division as a defensman and midfielder. When Cláudio walked away from his playing career, he moved on to a career in coaching. A majority of his coaching career began in Portugal's 4th Division, where he coached a A.F. Coimbra Cup Finalist team. In recent years, he began climbing the ranking and was promoted and hired to be an assistant coach in Portugal's 2nd division. In 2018 Cláudio was hired as the Head Coach Manager at BOCA JUNIORS INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY in Mumbay, India. He stayed in that position for a year and in September of 2019, he was hired as the Cayman Islands Boys National Team Head Coach: U20, U17 & U15. Cláudio recently led the U20 Men's team to the Concacaf World Cup: Puerto Rico Qualifies and placed 3rd.

We as ACSyracuse are very excited for Cláudio Garcia to join the staff and for his help in bringing a successful professional soccer team to Syracuse, New York.

ACSyracuse Agrees to Partnership with The Regional Football League of Laayoune Sakia El Hamra in Morocco

ACSyracuse has agreed to a mutual partnership with Regional Football League - Laayoune Sakia El Hamra in Morocco. The two's desire is to strengthen and activate the capabilities of all age groups.

The expectation is to push them into a direction for success. In an agreement between the two parties, the two agreed to promote and develop football in both regions and achieve a brighter vision for football in Morocco.

 

The Expectations for the partnership:

- Opening an academy in America

- Teaching Living Languages

- Exchange of Experiences and Expertise

- Exchange of Visits

- Organizing Joint Leagues

- Supporting and developing various activities for the two programs

 

ACSyracuse is committed to the support and assistance in Morocco with the Laayoune-Sakia Hamra Regional Football League. ACSyracuse will continue to search for partners to further achieve the agreements made. 

The Laayoune Sakia El Hamra Regional Football League is committed to the development of an annual work program.

ACSyracuse Joins Forces with RieraSport of Barcelona, Spain

ACSyracuse has mutually agreed to a partnership with RieraSport of Barcelona, Spain. The clubs goal is to create a bridge and an opportunity for training, evaluation, learning and development. Partnering will offer RieraSport an increased presence in the U.S, Canada, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Turkey markets. The hope and expectation is to create a player exchange in the U.S between ACSyracuse and RieraSport. ACSyracuse and RieraSport plan to expand activities into the countries of the United States, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Canada this year.

Get to know RieraSport:

RieraSport was created to help soccer players, from the age of 14 until 25 who would like to experience of playing and living in Barcelona, Spain. This program ensures that these players get the development they seek and the benefits of what any national player in Spain receives. Players will have the opportunity to compete in a regional league and friendly games and tournaments, giving them the chance to compete and be seen.

RieraSport was created and managed by Oscar Riera. Riera is an expert in sports management and the development of projects. He developed RieraSport to use his professional experience and knowledge to help young players from all over to help them grow and achieve their goals.

Riera's program has reached multiple continents and have stretched to 26 total academies across the globe. With 26 academies, it has developed over 8000 players.
